Using this site

Accessibility

I want every visitor to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, move around with a keyboard, or zoom in to read.

My goal

I work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the guidelines most websites use to measure accessibility. This is ongoing work, not a one-time project.

What I've done

  • Every image has a text description.
  • Pages use clear headings in order, so screen readers can move through them.
  • Every page has a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users.
  • Links and buttons show a clear outline when you move through the page with the Tab key.
  • Text is set to be readable against its background.
  • Pages work on phones and when you zoom in, without scrolling sideways.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, the animations on this site switch off.
  • The Landlord Exit Diagnostic works with a keyboard and moves screen readers to each new question.

Known limits

A few parts of this site come from other companies, and I can't change how they're built:

  • The contact form on the Contact page is provided by Tally.
  • The booking calendar for my 30-minute call is provided by Reclaim.
  • The cookie notice is provided by Wix.

The two downloadable guides on the Resources page are built to read with screen readers. If you need either one in another format, contact me and I'll get you the information another way.
